Passport photo out take!

Today I took a simple and easy approach to taking a passport photo of my newest little one. I’ll be posting another blog update with tips on taking your own passport photos at home of your baby, newborn or child.  But at just 10 weeks old, this little guy sure does have a lot of spunk!

Laughter Photo Challenge | Children’s Portrait Photographer, Natural Kids Photography

Our friends over at Rock the Shot forum are hosting a photo challenge with the theme “Laughter”. My two sons keep me laughing and bath time is no exception. Here is one from my personal files taken just 3 weeks ago. To enter your own photo, click the icon below this image.

Corrine & Patrick – Still can’t believe what an AMAZING job Sarah did! She was so patient, and gentle with the baby. She was very attentive to detail, as you can see in the photos. She has a true talent working with little babies, I wish her all the best in her photography career, and look forward to the next time we do another photo shoot with her!

Bright Sunshine! creativity exercise

Many photographers prefer scheduling sessions during the early morning or late afternoon hours due to the softer light qualities at that time. Occaisionally, such as during the longer days of summer it is just not possible to schedule at the ideal natural light hours. Today I ventured out with my little ones at the worst time possible. All of these images were created between 11:30am – 1pm, though I did not photograph the entire time. I started out with just my little one in the garden while my older son attended a class at Kidville Midtown West. After his class we grabbed a bite to eat and resumed after a short lunch. These days my big 4 year old just doesn’t have any patience for my camera, so we explored the foilage, made rock soup and found (really a gardner gave us) a yellow tomato. Tomatos are the only vegetable my little man loves to eat so he was eager to have a picture made of it. Enjoy…

A Third Birthday Party at FAO Schwarz | NYC Birthday Photographer, Natural Kids Photography,

What could be more special than celebrating your big 3rd birthday on the big piano at FAO with all your friends? Yup I know, I can’t think of anything better either!

Little Ben’s birthday at FAO was one of the most exciting amd energetic birthday’s I’ve ever photographed. His very own live toy soldier started out the festivities with a bit of juggling and games that had all the kids running and squealing in laughter. And just when we thought the kiddo’s would be all tuckered out, we headed out to the iconic Big Piano for a private play session that followed a mini concert from Ben’s personal toy soldier! As if that wasn’t enough, Ben then had the honor of blowing out the candles on a super cute monkey cake from Sugar & Plumm NYC – who makes the most delicious cakes, cupcakes and desserts!!! If you are ever out on the Upper West Side, be sure to stop in for a treat or just some lunch as the entire menu is  “yumm”. Actually, the decor alone is worth a stop.

This little guy had a blast of a celebration. All the kids were filled with such excitement and the energy in the air combined with all the warmth and love from his friends made this event one of the record books. I hope you enjoy these images as much as I enjoyed creating them!
